The Glentucky Family Farm is located high on a bench on Sonoma Mountain an old volcano. It is a chosen spot for growing plants because it is protected from the wind, has excellent volcanic soils, and plenty of sunshine and warmth. This farm has been certified Biodynamic since 2001.

We farm specialty crops for a local restaurant and our family. In 2016 these crops included; amaranth, apples, arugula, basil , beans, broccoli, carrots, chicory, eggplant, flowers, peas, peppers, persimmons, pomegranates, pumpkins, tomatoes.

Our strategy is to farm in a way that regenerates soil and builds biological capital. We have left more than half our property un-farmed but managed for biodiversity. We grow things for quality, authenticity and purity not quantity.

We live on this property with our family which is one of the reasons we farm Biodynamically.

The Glentucky Family Farm is conscious of managing and conserving resources.

Solar energy powers over 90% of all farm activities.

Rain water catchment accounts for about 40% of our irrigation needs. Water use is monitored by current technology and is used efficiently.

All organic materials are recycled by composting. Compost is our main source of fertility.

Almost all of the work is done by hand by a small crew of family and experienced workers.
